WAVERLY, Ohio — The Waverly Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a woman and a sport utility vehicle captured on surveillance images as part of an ongoing investigation.
The department posted two images to its Facebook page this week. One shows a woman wearing sunglasses, a gold necklace and a tank-style dress, carrying grocery bags as she walks through a store entryway. The image is time-stamped Aug. 2 at 1:17 p.m. The second shows a dark-colored SUV in a parking lot, time-stamped roughly two minutes later.
The department did not say what prompted the investigation, describe the nature of the case, or say whether the woman is considered a suspect or a person of interest. It is at least the fourth time since mid-July that the department has turned to Facebook seeking the public’s help identifying a person or vehicle connected to a case, following three earlier appeals involving suspected theft at the Waverly Walmart.
Anyone with information is asked to submit an anonymous tip through the department’s website, WaverlyPD.net, the department said in the Facebook post.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
