CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Crews freed an entrapped patient following a three-vehicle crash on State Route 180 at Dry Run Road in Green Township Tuesday evening, according to initial emergency radio traffic.

Green Township fire and EMS units were dispatched to the area shortly after 5:30 p.m. for a report of a three-vehicle crash with possible injuries, radio traffic indicated. One vehicle reportedly left the roadway and came to rest in a field, according to units on scene.

Crews requested additional time on the initial call, and units advised they were working through multiple 911 calls reporting the crash, according to radio traffic. Responders said one occupant was entrapped and that extrication would be needed, with a fire official on scene later reporting the entrapped patient was elderly and conscious. Other patients involved in the crash were also reported conscious, according to radio traffic.

The extricated patient was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center, with radio traffic describing the injuries as minor. Additional patients from the crash were also transported for treatment, though further details on their conditions were not given over the air.
