Obituary
Thomas Paine Glatting was born on October 16th 1934 to Frances Gerner Glatting and Leo E. Glatting In Chillicothe. He died on May 16th 2021 at the Logan Elm Health Care Center in Circleville after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by siblings Lydia Diane Smith of Illinois and Fran Morton of Iowa. Also surviving are his children Judy (Duane) Francis, Terry (Beth) Glatting and Janet Thornton all of Chillicothe. He is survived by his grandchildren, Chris Francis of Pickerington Ohio, Derrick (Brooke) Francis, Leo (Amy) Glatting, Joni (Gary) Watkins, Samuel Glatting, Dustin (Tia) Manring, Lacey (Caleb) Knight and Kaleb Thornton all of Chillicothe. A special friend Barbra Barney and family. Thomas has 15 Great Grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents and siblings Richard and John Rutherford, Virginia Smith and Katherine McCorkle.
Thomas graduated from Southeastern High School in 1952. He retired from the Mead corporation with 41 years of service. Thomas was a volunteer firefighter/EMT in Liberty Township for 30 years. He loved to write stories and poetry and won many awards. Some of his works have been published.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Adena 3A, the staff of Logan Elm Health Care Center and NCR hospice. Special thanks to Jodi Francis and Jessica.
A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2021 in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the graveside on Thursday.
