Obituary
CAROLYN MAE SOLLARS, age 83, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 3:35 a.m. at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
She was born on June 11, 1937 in Clark County to Leonard Arthur and Florence Fern (Millirons) Gordin. She was a 1955 graduate of Midway High School. Carolyn worked as a secretary at Nationwide Insurance in Columbus for many years; she retired in 2002 after twenty-six years of service with the Miami Trace School District. Carolyn was a faithful member at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church in Washington CH. She enjoyed traveling, ballroom dancing, crafting, wearing her ‘jewelry’ and being with her family.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pearl “Sonny” Sollars, whom she married on November 10, 1956; and siblings, Pat Young, and Bonnie Goode.
Survivors include her children, Philip D. (Amber) Sollars, and Linda A. (Joe) Jencsik; grandchildren, Courtney L. Sollars, and Sarah M. (Jake) Clay; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Remi, and Bella; siblings, Ann (Jack) Knisley, and John (Evelyn) Gordin; and aunt, Ruth Karch. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.
The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church with Rev. Father C.M. Haddad officiating with burial to follow at Bethel Cemetery in Range Township. Family and friends may visit at the Summers Funeral Home on Friday evening from 4-6:00 p.m. where a Rosary Service will be held promptly at 6:00 p.m.
