WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — The city’s street department will fog for mosquitoes on back-to-back nights in early September, targeting different sections of the city each evening, according to a community notice posted by the city.
Crews will spray wards 1 and 2 on Sept. 1 and wards 3 and 4 on Sept. 2, with the fogging machine running from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. both nights, the city said. Weather or equipment problems could push the schedule back, according to the notice.
Municipalities across Ohio routinely schedule mosquito-control fogging during the summer and early fall to reduce populations of the insects, which can carry diseases such as West Nile virus.
Residents with questions about the fogging schedule can call the Washington Court House Street Department at 740-636-2380, the city said.
