CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Two people are in custody after a high-speed chase in Ross County.
According to reports, Chillicothe Police attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle around 11 p.m., Thursday night. That is when, troopers say, the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed.
Officers pursued the vehicle through the city’s westside before the vehicle was finally stopped on Polk Hollow Road down a long driveway.
The suspect, Rylan Campos, was taken into custody following the pursuit. Campos’ passenger was released from the scene. The passenger, police say, may face future charges.
The reason behind the suspects fleeing was not immediately released. The incident, authorities say, remains under investigation.
Officers scoured the country road for evidence after law enforcement said the passenger was throwing “illegal contraband” from the fleeing vehicle.
Campos is expected to be arraigned soon on charges related to the chase.
