ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Ross County Sheriff deputies reportedly kicked in a door looking for a man accused of beating his wife.
Deputies, according to reports, responded to a Bainbridge residence, November 19, after a 9-1-1 call came in from a woman who said her husband had assaulted her.
Deputies arrived on the scene and spoke with the victim. She stated that she had fled from her home in fear for her life.
The victim told law enforcement her husband had punched her in the head and then dragged her around their home. Deputies noted that the woman had noticeable facial injuries.
EMS was dispatched to the home to care for the victim while deputies attempted to find the alleged abuser. According to official reports, Ross County deputies knocked on the home’s front door after the victim said her husband was still inside. Deputies tried to make contact using their cruiser’s PA System. Their attempts failed to garner the suspect’s attention. Deputies then got permission, according to the report, from the victim to make entry however possible. Deputies then broke through the front door, gaining access to the home.
A search of the victim’s home revealed that her husband had already fled. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
