ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — One person was killed after they rear ended a semi along route 35 Monday morning.
Fire and rescue from multiple townships responded to the area of route 35 east of Richmond Dale at around 10:30 a.m.
According to initial reports, the accident involved aa tractor-trailer from Brownsburg, Indiana and a car.
Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and found Timothy McCartney, 31, Thurman, Ohio unresponsive and not breathing. Reports by first responders said McCartney was trapped inside the mangled car and was pronounced deceased.
Route 35 was reduced to one lane as crews worked the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The names of those involved were not immediately released.
