CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Looking for a great volunteer opportunity? Adena Mansions & Gardens will be holding a volunteer orientation at 10 a.m. on February 19.

According to the Adena Mansion & Garden Society, residents interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities at the historic site are encouraged to attend.

During the orientation, participants will also learn about the mansion, as well as Thomas Worthington and his family.

Adena Mansion is the famed residence of Thomas Worthington, Ohio’s sixth governor. The site holds historical significance for the Scioto Valley and contains many period artifacts, including a tomahawk given to the Governor by the Shawnee leader, Tecumseh.

Adena Mansion & Gardens open for visitors on April 6.
