CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Detectives in Chillicothe located a stolen camper while executing a search warrant on the city’s east side.
According to reports obtained by the Guardian, officers and detectives responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Dayton Street on Tuesday.
Officers with the Chillicothe Police Department stated that prior to their arrival, detectives with the department requested a search warrant following an investigation into multiple thefts in the area. The suspect in a string of recent thefts was known to frequent the Dayton Street home.
During the search of the property, a “red and silver camper was located under a tarp in the backyard.”
Officers made contact with the camper’s registered owner who was unaware that his camper had been stolen from his Vine Street residence. The camper was seized by police and taken as evidence.
