CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Officers search for the suspects involved in an attempted home invasion in Chillicothe.
It happened Tuesday around 1 a.m. in the area of East Fourth Street on the city’s east side.
According to the Chillicothe Police Department, the 9-1-1 caller to dispatchers that two or three male subjects tried to force their way into the caller’s residence but were unsuccessful in gaining entry. The suspects, reports say, then fled the scene on foot.
Officers arrived on the scene and spoke with the caller who believe the individuals were attempting to steal their English Bulldog. The door to the home was damaged, officers reported. The victim told police that the intruders used a sledgehammer to try and get inside her residence.
Security footage from the scene did show at least one of the suspects involved.
Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate anyone. The case, officials said, remains under investigation.
