GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio — The Gallia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting.
According to Sheriff Matt Champlin, dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call shortly before 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon regarding a shooting along Route 7 South.
Deputies, reports say, arrived on the scene, and found the victim, later identified as 44-year-old Larry M. Coon, of Gallipolis. He was transported to Holzer Medical Center where he would succumb to his injuries.
Arrested at the scene was a family member, 40-year-old Bobby O. Coon. He remains in custody at the Gallia County Jail.
The shooting, officials say, stemmed from a dispute.
The case remains under investigation.
