Thousands are without power this morning after heavy winds.

The outages happened around 4 a.m. after high winds blew through the area ahead of a cold front and low pressure. Gusts were reported of 35 miles per hour.

South Central Power reports more than 5,300 are without power in Pickaway County. Crews estimate a restoration time of 8 a.m.

1,200 are without power in Ross County with an estimated fix of 8 a.m.

1,500 are without power in Highland County. Dayton Power and Light said they expect the power to be restored by 6 a.m. AEP reported nearly 300 without power in that county with an expected restoration time of 8 a.m.

Nearly 10,000 people have no electricity in Clinton County. Crews there hope to have the issue fixed by 6 a.m.

Fayette County has two people without power.

All-in-all, approximately 70,000 homes are impacted in central Ohio.

The area is under a high wind warning until 7 a.m. Monday. The National Weather Service says that people should secure yard furniture and loose items.
