CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey of Pickaway County has announced that the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force have executed a search warrant at an apartment in Circleville, Ohio, as part of an investigation into the sharing of child pornography.
The investigation was launched after the Ohio Department of Public Safety used a computer running an investigative peer-to-peer (P2P) protocol to identify a specific IP address linked to the sharing of illegal files.
Upon executing the search warrant, Joshua J. Oday was arrested and charged with five counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, all fourth-degree felonies.
He is set to be arraigned in the Circleville Municipal Court on December 21, 2022, at 10:00 AM. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed at a later time.
