Ruth M. Skaggs, 80, of Chillicothe, passed 8:51 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at her daughter’s residence following an extended illness.
She was born November 13, 1942 in Chillicothe to the late John Henry, Sr. and Amanda Ruth Cyrus Vandemark. On April 28, 1958 she married Ernie A. Skaggs who survives.
Also surviving are children, Kelley (Stephen R.) Park and Kevin R. (Kathy Shanton) Skaggs, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren; Katrina (Ray) Watson, Stephen (Erica) Park, Amanda (Bruce) Hartley and Sydney (Josh) Cooksey; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Tom) DePugh, of Chillicothe; uncle, Rev. David Cyrus, of Delaware; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, Kyle R. and Kendall R. Skaggs; brothers, John, Jr. and Robert Vandemark.
Ruth was a homemaker. She took pride caring for her flower garden.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Friends and family may call from 4 – 6 p.m. on Sunday.
