PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — In-Demand Jobs Week is set to take place in Ohio, celebrating the state’s most sought-after industries and skillsets. This year, the event will focus on career technical center education and the different paths that can lead to successful careers. Community leaders are encouraged to partner with and plan events and activities to raise awareness among students and job seekers.
The Workforce & Business Development Program (W&B) and OhioMeansJobs Pike County (OMJ) at the Community Action Committee of Pike County (CAC) will be hosting In-Demand Job Day on May 5th from 9 am to 4 pm at the OhioMeansJobs Career Center in Piketon. The event aims to support job seekers with trade skills, providing information about in-demand jobs from local businesses.
Staff members will be available to assist with updating resumes and applying for available jobs online, while also sharing information about the services offered by the Workforce & Business Development Program.
The In-Demand Jobs Event will also highlight various opportunities available through the OhioMeansJobs Pike County Career Center, such as Career Technical Education, Pre-Apprenticeships, College Credit Plus, and Supportive Services. These programs provide individuals with the necessary academic and technical skills, job readiness, and support services needed to succeed in future careers.
