CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Chillicothe man is recovering after a brutal assault that took place in an alleyway near the Sack n’ Save grocery store on Wednesday, according to the Chillicothe Police Department.
The victim reported to police that he was walking in the alleyway when he was attacked from behind. He stated that he was hit on the head with an object, knocked to the ground, and then “stomped.”
The victim was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment and later transferred to Grant Hospital in Columbus. He reported suffering a broken jaw and a brain aneurysm as a result of the attack.
Police officials stated that a suspect was taken into custody on unrelated charges, but the alleged perpetrator’s name was withheld from the media. The investigation is ongoing, and no details have been released regarding a possible motive for the attack.
