CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Frisch’s Big Boy, a popular commercial food service establishment on North Bridge Street, has been found to have repeat health inspection violations. The food establishment had been previously warned regarding the violations. The new inspection, categorized as a follow-up, revealed several areas of concern that needed immediate attention.
On May 31, critical violations were discovered during the inspection, with one concerning the temperature control of a reach-in cooler located in the grill area. It was observed that the food items were not held at the required temperature, posing a potential risk to customers’ health. To rectify this issue, the health department recommended that the cooler be repaired or replaced to ensure that the temperatures remain below the required threshold of 41 degrees Fahrenheit.
Another critical repeat violation was discovered pertaining to the ice machine’s lid, which was found to be in disrepair, making it difficult to clean effectively. According to the report, measures have already been taken, with a contractor visiting the facility to assess the lid for a replacement since the previous inspection on May 22.
Furthermore, the inspection noted the presence of gaps in the floor and wall junctures, which could potentially serve as harborage for pests. The business, per the report, was told that continued violations could result in an Administrative Hearing. Some of the violations, reports say, were corrected the same day.
Regular health inspections serve as a crucial safeguard to protect public health and maintain the integrity of food service establishments. All reports are public records and can be viewed on the Ross County Health District’s website.
