CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A day at Yoctangee Park turned into a living nightmare for a 16-year-old girl. She reported to local police on June 7 that she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted behind Chillicothe High School.
The girl had been enjoying a bike ride on May 28 when a 56-year-old man, someone she had briefly met a year earlier, pulled up in his pickup. Ignoring his attempt at conversation, she continued to ride away, but the man had other plans. She recounted to police that the man stepped out of the truck, grabbed her by the throat, and dragged her into the pickup. He then proceeded to sexually assault her. The young victim sought help at the local hospital, who called law enforcement.
Chillicothe Police have refused to release further details, including the man’s name, as the case remains active, and no charges have been filed.
