FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP) is continuing its investigation into a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred in Fayette County on Thursday evening, July 20th.

The tragic incident happened around 10:19 p.m. on Route 35, west of Route 62. A 2014 Freightliner semi was traveling westbound on Route 35 when it struck a pedestrian, 38-year-old Chrystal Shadley, who was attempting to cross the roadway. Shadley was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the semi, 55-year-old Rodney Morris of Clemmons, North Carolina, was not injured.

It is important to note that Fayette County was under an active tornado warning at the time of the crash. It is unknown at this time if weather played a factor in the crash.
