CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A worrisome incident occurred in Chillicothe when a cache of guns was stolen from a business along Eastern Avenue on Thursday. The Ross County Sheriff’s Office responded promptly to the scene and is now seeking public assistance to track down the perpetrators.

According to the report provided by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the location after receiving a call from the business owner. The caller informed the authorities that their store had been broken into and multiple firearms were stolen in the break-in.

The theft appeared to have been executed with careful planning. The perpetrators, per the report, first cut off the power to the building by tampering with the fuse box, rendering the security systems useless. Capitalizing on the darkness, they then forcibly entered the premises through a glass door, making away with a cache of firearms.

The case remains under investigation. No suspects have been named at this time.
