ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — An inmate at the Ross County Jail has been charged with escape after failing to return from a medical furlough.

Marcus Goheen, who was being held on two separate cases of possessing drug abuse instruments, was granted a medical furlough on August 21 by the Chillicothe Municipal Court. The furlough agreement stated that Goheen should return to the jail immediately upon his release from hospitalization, or charges would be filed. Goheen had signed the furlough paperwork, which was placed into his inmate file. He was transported to the Adena Regional Medical Center to be medically treated. The hospital confirmed that Goheen is no longer a patient in their care and that he had left on his own will.

Goheen had a pre-trial set for September 6 but failed to show up in the Chillicothe Municipal Court. As a result, a warrant has been placed for his arrest for failure to appear and for escape.
