ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A man is on the run after attacking a deputy in Ross County on Friday.
It happened in the 1400 block of Camelin Hill Road just before 6 p.m. when a Ross County deputy was on the scene of a call. A man, identified as George Hamblin attacked the deputy, wrestling him to the ground. The deputy called for backup and managed to tase Hamlin twice.
Hamlin took off running into nearby woods. Several law enforcement units rushed to the scene. Aviation from the Highway Patrol and bloodhounds to hunt down the man were requested. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt and green cutoff shorts.
The deputy was not seriously injured but a manhunt has ensued for Hamblin.
A woman at the scene was detained for several warrants but released.
