SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — A southern Ohio man is locked up on more than a million dollar bond. Deputies say he is charged with ten counts of rape involving two young girls who are 10-years-old

Jonathan Andrew Gold, 31, of 1250 Bihl Lane Apt 37, Wheelerburg, was arrested on Sunday following a 911 call reporting the sexual assault of two juveniles under the age of 10.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman revealed that deputies, along with detectives from the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit, responded promptly to initiate an investigation. Interviews with victims and witnesses led to the identification of Gold as the suspect.

Upon reaching Gold’s residence, authorities detained and questioned him. A search of his apartment yielded evidence related to the rapes, resulting in Gold being charged with 10 counts of Rape of a Child Under the age of 10, a first-degree felony, and one count of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor, a second-degree felony.

Gold is currently held on a $1,020,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Monday. Sheriff Thoroughman emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, with additional charges anticipated and to be presented at the Scioto County Grand Jury at a later date.
