ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Deputies in Ross County are investigating a bizarre situation involving rolls of missing toilet paper.

Deputies encountered the less-than-ideal number two time and plunged into action after receiving intel from a vigilant civilian. It seemed a box truck had experienced some dumpster diving issues, liberating several boxes on State Route 104 at the Moundsville Road intersection.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found a “loo-sy” situation with a good Samaritan already handling the fallen boxes. Inside, rolls of brand new toilet paper. Undeterred, deputies patrolled south, hoping to flush out the truck but was left high and dry.

Returning to the intersection, deputies, snapped photos of the 16 scattered boxes. Each box, a real bowl-buster, carried 96 rolls of toilet paper and had a label saying they belonged to OPI Correctional Industries. Dialing the number on the labels, law enforcement spoke with a woman who assured them they would wipe away the issue.

That was not the end of the stinky situation. A later call revealed a twist in the toilet tale. The OPI employee, sounding a bit flustered, claimed the toilet paper did not belong to their company, leaving deputies in a state of perplexed potty parity.

Returning to the scene, law enforcement found it bare: all 16 boxes had vanished, leaving no paper trail. The company had no explanation, deputies said.

As of this report, no one has reported a heist in the powder room. The investigation is underway, determined to get to the “bottom” of this slippery bathroom caper.
