HOUSTON, Texas — Tragedy struck Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, on Sunday afternoon, as a shooting incident resulted in the death of a woman and left two others injured.
The shooting unfolded shortly before 2 p.m., sending shockwaves through the congregation. According to reports, a woman, believed to be in her mid 30s, entered the church wearing a trench coat and backpack before opening fire.
Two law enforcement officers present at the church prevented further bloodshed. They intervened, engaging the shooter and ultimately fatally shooting her at the scene.
Among the wounded is a young child, who sustained critical injuries during the chaos. Additionally, a man within the church was shot in the leg but is reported to be in stable condition.
