CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — An attempted break-in at a Brewer Heights residence marks the latest incident in a series of attempted burglaries across the Chillicothe area.
On Tuesday, officers responded to Tecumseh Road on Chillicothe’s west side.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the residents, who reported noticing damage to the frame of their back door upon returning home.
According to the police report obtained by the Guardian, officers observed pry marks on the door frame. In a recent similar case, officers were dispatched to a residence on South Paint Street after the homeowners encountered a man using a pry bar to attempt entry into their home.
The rising property crime rates in the city of Chillicothe have left many residents wary of leaving their homes unattended. Currently, no suspects have been identified in either case.
