CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – A routine shoplifting call at a local Walmart on Saturday afternoon led Chillicothe police to uncover drugs, a firearm, and additional charges for two suspects.
Officers responded to the store on March 16th after an Asset Protection associate reported a possible theft in progress. The associate identified a male and female suspect entering a blue minivan in the parking lot near aisle 9. Police located the vehicle and detained the suspects, identified as Alysha Parker and Trevor Foreman.
According to authorities, both Parker and Foreman admitted to taking items from the store and requested to return them. Recovered items were identified by the store employee and returned. During a search incident to arrest, officers found suspected fentanyl (street name “fetti”) in Parker’s possession.
A subsequent vehicle search revealed a black bag containing drug paraphernalia and a loaded Glock Model 45 handgun in the passenger seat where Parker was sitting. A check on the firearm confirmed it was not stolen.
During questioning, both suspects were read their Miranda rights. Parker initially denied knowledge of the bag’s contents, while Foreman claimed it belonged to Parker and that she had stolen the gun from an ex-boyfriend. A LEADS check revealed Parker was already under a sealed indictment for narcotics possession in Madison County, Ohio.
As a result, Parker now faces charges of Theft, Drug Paraphernalia, and Weapons Under Disability. The suspected narcotics will be sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) for further analysis and potential additional charges.
Both Parker and Foreman were transported to the Ross County Jail (RCJ). All evidence was collected and secured, with the vehicle towed from the scene.
