Authorities responded swiftly to the scene, and one individual was airlifted to a local trauma center for medical treatment. As of now, the victim is reported to be in stable condition.
Sheriff Champlin issued a statement on Tuesday afternoon, April 23, 2024, providing initial details about the incident. According to the sheriff’s office, the 911 Center received an emergency call reporting the shooting at a residence near SR 775 in Walnut Township. The situation unfolded as a result of the ongoing dispute between the two individuals.
The primary person of interest in the case is Isaiah Conkey, an 18-year-old resident of Patriot, Ohio. Investigators are actively seeking information on Conkey’s whereabouts. If anyone has relevant details, they are urged to contact the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office at (740) 446-1221.
