ATHENS, Ohio — Two men are behind bars following a drug investigation in Athens County.
The Athens County Drug Task Force had been investigating possible drug trafficking at a residence at 167 North Lancaster Street in the City of Athens.
Officials say that during the raid, several individuals were detained for questioning. Detectives seized money, cocaine,and other evidence related to drug trafficking.
Sheriff Smith states, “This investigation is the result of a cooperative effort between multiple agencies working to achieve a common goal. We will continue to focus our resources and attention on those who are trafficking drugs in our community.”
Two subjects were arrested and, after being interviewed, were transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on the following charges:
- DeKarion N. Branch, 21, of 1162 Nancy Lee Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Drugs (F4) and Possession of Drugs (F4).
- Kal-El L. Wells, 21, of 6509 Marson Road, Mayfield Heights, Ohio, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Drugs (F4) and Possession of Drugs (F4).
