CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A garage fire in Ross County is currently under investigation for possible arson, according to local authorities. The incident occurred on May 9 at a residence on Pam Lane, just south of downtown Chillicothe.
Upon arrival, deputies found the garage fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews from multiple townships were called to the scene to combat the blaze.
Witnesses reported seeing a female near the residence just before the outbreak of the fire. The individual reportedly fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
According to a report provided by the sheriff’s office, the State Fire Marshal’s Office has determined that the fire originated at the rear of the garage, where a motorcycle was stored. Investigators have also learned that a male subject was seen with the female shortly before the fire broke out.
The case remains under active investigation. No arrests have been made at this time. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
