CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A 2017 Chevy Silverado was stolen from the Chillicothe Fire Department Station #1 this week. The Guardian previously reported on the brazen theft.
According to the police report, the truck’s owner reported the theft after returning from a fishing trip. Security footage reportedly revealed a male suspect entering the fire station and later driving off in the truck.
The Chillicothe Police Department investigated the incident, reviewing footage from neighboring businesses and sharing a suspect photo with other law enforcement agencies.
On May 22nd, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office located the stolen truck and arrested Barryn Reign McDonnell. McDonnell allegedly confessed to stealing the truck from the fire station during a recorded interview with Franklin County detectives.
McDonnell is being charged with receiving stolen property and remains in custody at the Franklin County Jail.
