CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Ohio Department of Transportation officials have announced a series of construction projects set to begin the week of June 2, 2024, which are expected to impact several highways in the area.

The State Route 28 Culvert Replacement project is scheduled to start on June 10. The work, which will take place between Halley Lane and Harper Station Road, will necessitate the closure of S.R. 28 for the duration of the project. Traffic will be rerouted via U.S. 50 to S.R. 41. The project is expected to be completed by 3:30 PM on June 13.

Also starting on June 10 is a resurfacing project on U.S. 23, stretching from S.R. 207 to the Pickaway County line. At least one lane of U.S. 23 will remain open throughout the project, which is slated for completion in the summer of 2024.

Work is already underway on a resurfacing project on U.S. 35, which began on April 15. The project spans from S.R. 138 to the Fayette County line, with at least one lane of U.S. 35 remaining open. Completion is anticipated for the summer of 2024.

Finally, an intersection improvement project that began on April 10 is ongoing at the Trego Creek Road intersection on U.S. 23. The project involves the installation of a turbo lane, with at least one lane of U.S. 23 being maintained throughout. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2024.

All projects are weather-permitting and are part of an effort to improve and maintain the safety and efficiency of Ross County’s roadways. For more information and updates on traffic impacts, visit OHGO.com.
