CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department is investigating a violent robbery that occurred over the weekend at Mary Lou Patton Park.
Officers responded to a call regarding a robbery near Cleveland Avenue on the evening of August 3, around 9 p.m. Upon arrival, they met with two individuals who reported being attacked while riding their bikes east on Douglas Avenue.
According to the police, one of the victims was stopped by two males and a female, who forcibly took her purse after pulling her off her bicycle and onto the ground. The second victim attempted to intervene but was struck repeatedly in the face with a glass bottle by one of the male suspects, causing lacerations to his head and chin as well as bruising around his left eye.
Following the attack, the suspects reportedly stole the second victim’s backpack before fleeing the scene.
The Chillicothe Police Department has announced that the case is currently closed due to a lack of surveillance footage and insufficient information about the suspects.
