CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The excitement is building as the 2nd annual Petland Wiener Race is set to take center stage at Chillicothe’s Oktoberfest celebration. This year’s event promises a fierce battle for bragging rights and top prizes among the fastest wiener dogs in the region.
Dachshunds from across south central and southern Ohio will compete to be named the Fastest Wiener Dog in the region. The races will be conducted in heats, with the winners of each heat advancing to the final race. The ultimate champion will be crowned after the final showdown. Adding to the fun, this year’s event will feature a secret judging of costumed racers for presentation and cuteness, with the top three receiving special prizes.
Registration for the race remains open until noon on Friday, September 20. Interested participants can register at tinyurl.com/racer2024. To qualify, racers must be dachshunds at least four months old. Registrants will need to upload recent immunization records and veterinarian contact information for their participating dogs.
