LYNNFIELD, Mass. — HP Hood LLC is voluntarily recalling five SKUs of 96 oz containers of LACTAID Milk because they may contain trace amounts of almonds, which is not listed on the product labels. This poses a serious risk for individuals with almond allergies or severe sensitivities, who could experience life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the product.
So far, no illnesses have been reported related to this issue.
The affected LACTAID Milk containers were distributed to retailers and wholesalers between September 5 and September 18, 2024, in several states including Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
The recall involves specific 96 oz plastic containers of refrigerated LACTAID Milk, identified by the code 51-4109 P2 and certain Best By dates, which can be found on the center-top area of the containers.
The potential contamination was discovered during routine maintenance procedures.
HP Hood LLC advises consumers who have purchased the affected products to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange. For further assistance, customers can contact Hood Consumer Affairs at 800-242-2423 from 9 AM to 5 PM ET, Monday through Friday.
This recall is being conducted in coordination with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
