VINTON COUNTY, Ohio – A commercial vehicle crash disrupted traffic on U.S. Route 50 in Vinton County on the evening of December 22, 2024. The incident occurred near milepost five and involved a semi-truck overturning and blocking the roadway.

At approximately 6:27 p.m., the Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the crash. Authorities reported that Dustin R. Robinson, 34, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, was driving a 2022 Mack Pinnacle semi-truck eastbound when his vehicle veered off the right side of the road. The semi-truck struck a guardrail before overturning and coming to rest on its side in the roadway.

Mr. Robinson sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment. The driver was cited for failure to control.

U.S. Route 50 remained closed for about five hours while crews worked to clear the scene and remove the damaged vehicle. Traffic resumed after the roadway was deemed safe.

No other injuries or vehicles were involved in the incident.
