A small airplane had a hard landing in Fayette County.
It happened Wednesday at the Fayette County Airport just outside of Washington Court House.
According to Fayette County Sheriff Vernon P. Stanforth, a small plane was landing on the runway when the pilot forgot to open the landing gear.
“No damage to the plane or the runway. The airport reported the incident to the FAA and no local report was required,” the Sheriff said.
No one was injured during the landing, the Sheriff reported.
Parrish Towing and Recovery was called to the runway to pick the plane up. Once hoisted into the air, the pilot lowered the gear.
The pilot’s name was not released.
