The Pike County Sheriff has released the name of the man who they say was shot and killed Monday night.
Charlies Michael “Mike” Meadows was shot dead on Johnson Hill Road Monday afternoon, according to the Pike County Sheriff’s office.
The Guardian was the first to tell you that investigators were investigating Meadow’s murder Monday evening.
The Pike County Sheriff’s office is looking for 32-year-old Jon-Erik Burrgraff, who is believed to be carrying a black duffel bag. Burrgraff is wanted for questioning about the deadly shooting. He was reportedly seen running away from the shooting scene.
Burrgraff is described as a white male with red facial hair; he is 5’9″ and approximately 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black coat, black beanie hat, and blue jeans. He is believed to be carrying a black duffel bag.
The Guardian was the first to tell you Monday afternoon that the Sheriff’s office and multiple other agencies were on the scene of a deadly shooting on Johnson Hill Road.
The active scene was in the 300 block of Johnson Hill Road. Pike County Sheriff deputies got a 9-1-1 call that there was someone shot in the area late-Monday afternoon.
Burrgraff was a person of interest that wasquickly identified and was said to have fled the area. An active manhunt was launched and deputies called for help from the Ohio Highway Patrol, who sent a half-a-dozen troopers to the area, including a K-9 unit. Initially, troopers asked for a helicopter to assist, but they were unable to fly due to the weather.
Aerial images showed a blue tent above the scene of the shooting with crime scene tape blocking the driveway.
Piketon Police Department was also called in to assist in the manhunt.
Agents with BCI have been called to process the scene. The county coroner’s car was also at the scene.
