A group of local gun advocates are set to hold a meeting with other gun advocates to discuss about Ross County becoming a “Second Amendment Sanctuary.”
Two groups, The Ohio Patriot Network and Ohio Stands United, will be holding a public meeting to offer more information on the proposal they plan to submit.
The meeting will take place this Saturday, January 25 at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Post 757 on Cook’s Hill Road. During the meeting, petitions for people to sign will be available.
The non-binding, symbolic resolution would say that the commissioners declared their intent to oppose any unlawful infringement on the rights of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms using such legal means as may be expedient including, without limitation, court action. The resolution does not change law.
Several counties across the state are considering similar legislation, with at least three counties passing such resolutions.
