A local school levy held during a special election on Tuesday is too close to call.
The public school levy for Washington Court City Schools is only winning by three votes after nearly 1,500 people voted Tuesday. The voter turnout was only 19%.
The special election was the district’s third time pursuing the income tax increase of 1% for district residents.
Last year, the district tried passing the measure, which failed by only 32 votes.
The election Tuesday is too close to call with 18 provisional ballots and 28 absentee ballots left to count.
The final results will take at least ten days to certify before the community will know if the issue will pass or fail for a third time.
