ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Deputies and EMS were dispatched to Lower Twin Road in Ross County Sunday night on reports of a woman who had been shot.

Dispatchers said the 9-1-1 caller relayed to them that a man had shot a 9mm handgun into the woman’s back. According to deputies, the man said he did not know the gun was loaded. Deputies believe the shooting to be accidental, reports state.

The woman was air-lifted to Columbus in critical condition. Her name was not released.
