ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — The Ross County Sheriff is investigating an animal cruelty case after pictures surfaced online of a dog being dragged behind a car.
Deputies contacted the Ross County Human Society on July 6, saying the dragging happened for close to a mile. According to the Ross County Dog Warden, the injured dog was transported to the North Fork Animal Clinic for treatment.
Veterinarians with the North Fork Animal Clinic observed multiple cuts and abrasions on the canine. The dog was transported to the Ohio State University Veterinarian Clinic for further evaluation. It was there, the warden said, the injured dog, nicknamed Blake, died.
Law enforcement said the incident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
