CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — The Circleville Police Department responded Wednesday to a robbery that was witnessed by closed-circuit cameras.
According to police, the suspect walked up to a woman and ripped a gold chain from her neck. Reports say that a foot pursuit followed.
The suspect was able to get inside a vehicle near the Circleville Eagles Lodge. Police officials told the Guardian that the man then ran away toward route 23 at a high rate of speed.
Police found the car traveling north on route 23, going nearly 100 miles per hour. Police said the suspect was stopped near Fletcher’s Towing.
The suspect, John Stanley, 36, Columbus, was apprehended and charged with multiple felonies. He is currently held in the Pickaway County Jail.
