WAVERLY, Ohio — More than tens grams of meth was taken off the streets Saturday in Waverly.
Officers with the village’s police department pulled over a car and called for a K-9 to search the vehicle. Police said the K-9 conducted a “free air sniff” of the car and made a positive hit that drugs were inside.
Officers searched the car and found meth, along with a wad of cash and drug paraphernalia.
“These drugs are killing our community, and frankly, killing our families,” said Waverly Police Chief John Winfield. “COVID isn’t the only pandemic we are in; we have a drug epidemic and it’s out-of-control. We will continue to work with the help of area law enforcement to combat this war.”
