WAVERLY, Ohio — Waverly Schools announced that they will be moving to remote learning.
In an online statement, Superintendent J. Edward Dickens announced that the district would be closed on September 10 for cleaning and that schools would go fully remote from September 13 through September 17 as a result of rising COVID-19 cases.
“As much as we have tried to sanitize and social distance,” said Superintendent Dickens, “We had 39% of our district out today, including students and staff.”
According to the district, students will not return to in-person learning until September 20. The district went on to say that “masks will be mandatory” when students and staff return.
Waverly joins many other districts throughout the state that have moved to remote learning as COVID cases continue to spread exponentially in the area.
