COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Highway Patrol is preparing for possible highway closures caused by truckers and motorists.
Individuals are reportedly protesting recent vaccination rules, according to officials.
The protest is expected to start at 7 a.m. on Monday and run for several hours, according to online chatter.
The hashtag #patriotshutdown went viral on the popular social media app Tik Tok. The hashtag has become a rallying cry for those opposing COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
As of Monday morning, troopers in the region had not noticed any traffic flow issues, but have prepared in case they did.
Authorities across the state have said that “any attempt to shut down the highways will result in criminal charges.”
