ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Ross County church was the target of local thieves, reports say.

According to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the Richmond Dale Church of God Friday after the pastor reported the theft of a catalytic converter.

Deputies said the vehicle was a church-owned van. According to the pastor, it will cost the local church nearly $1,500 to make the necessary repairs.

The Sheriff’s Office continues to look into this case and dozens of other reported catalytic converter thefts throughout the county.

Ross County residents have taken to social media over the last several months voicing their frustration. “We see more thefts but fewer arrests,” said one homeowner.

The Ross County Sheriff’s Office has stated that each theft is being documented and investigated.
