ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Unioto student was allegedly caught “pleasuring himself” on a school bus full of students, and video of the incident has landed two other teens in hot water.
Deputies met with Superintendent Matthew Thornsberry and the High School Principal Nathan Caplinger about the situation.
According to school officials, a student had filmed another who was allegedly touching himself on the school bus. The incident occurred on November 1, reports said. The Guardian requested the police report from the Sheriff but did not receive it until November 15.
Video of the incident, according to Thornsberry, was shared with other students who rode the bus. The superintendent told law enforcement that the student who videotaped the incident was removed from school and had his phone confiscated.
Deputies, along with school officials reviewed the footage that showed a male student making hand motions consistent with “self-gratification,” reports read. The video did not show any sensitive body parts and there was not any nudity in the footage, the police report said.
Law enforcement told the administration that the incident was under investigation and there was likely “not enough evidence to support a public indecency charge.”
A mother of one of the teens said their child was suspended from school over the incident for just handing the phone to another student, which displayed the video.
The case has been turned over to the Ross County Juvenile Prosecutor for review.
This case follows after another incident involving a Unioto school bus. The Guardian reported in September that an 18-year-old student sexually assaulted a 6-year-old child on a bus. That crime was caught on camera, according to law enforcement officials. The name of the suspect, in that case, has not been released.
