WASHINGTON, D.C.— Do you have any used or outdated medication laying around? April 30 is national prescription drug “Take-Back Day.” According to the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), residents across the country can safely discard any used or expired medications at a drop-off location near them.

A spokesperson for the DEA said, “The drug overdose epidemic in the United States is a clear and present public health, public safety, and national security threat. Don’t let prescription drugs fall into the wrong hands. The message is simple: “Keep them safe, clean them out.”

To find a drop-off location near you, visit the DEA’s website.

The “Take Back” event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
